Floresta staff with McLaren
Thought I’d share the pic from when Brian McLaren and Shane Claiborne were visiting the office. We took a group shot, so you also get the pleasure of seeing the entire Floresta staff.
They were in at different times of the day, so we had to take two pics. I like the pic with Brian…the whole staff seems a bit confused, and I seem a bit too excited. Oh well, it was a good day!

some of my coworkers don’t seem to know how to wash their dishes. They actually put them back in the strainer with food stuck to them for everyone else to use.
WHY??????
I don’t get it.

Going to San Francisco in the morning for an engagement session. I am really excited about the shoot, but I LOATHE flying….everything about flying…ugh. So, excited for the shoot and looking forward to hanging out with Carlosita, but dreading the plane ride. Well, at least it’s only an hour long and I’ll have the whistling of Andrew Bird to calm me down.
ALSO, we booked two more weddings today! YES!
And pops, if you’re reading this, I’m expecting that profound response to my deeply profound post.
Love you much!!!

Brian McLaren and Shane Claiborne were in the office yesterday. We sat down and just talked with them about our society, environmentalism, the church, etc….I was reminded yet again of how much I appreciate them. THEN Rico and I got to drive Brian McLaren back to his hotel, which was great because we got to spend sometime talking to him one on one. Even though yesterday was a crazy busy day without a minute of spare time, it was a good day (even with my migraine). Better than my frustrating moment I was having on my previous post (I apologize for the negativity, we all have times like that). And now that my three minute break is up, back to work I go for 45 more.
ps. Good songs = Blood Bank and Woods by Bon Iver….check them out if you know what’s good for you

So since it IS my birthday today I thought it only necessary that I at least say something in , well, honor of myself I guess….as vain as that sounds. I don’t really know what to say except that I’m now 26…nothing exciting about that age really, but oh well, one more year completed. Last night I went to ….wait for it…WINE STEALS! I know, shocking. It was nice, we went with my sister and her husband and then my dad. We had pizza and CHEESE and then two different dessert boards which were amazing. Also, we didn’t get charged a corkage fee on my very “expensive” bottle of vino….it really was a “wine steal” hahahaha ….I know. Today, I woke up and went to yoga with my sister. It was Steve’s class, who is the most difficult teacher at the studio, nothing says birthday like 50 chattarangas…sore arms tomorrow, I promise you that. Be prepared Floresta women for yoga on Wednesday, it’s going to be brutal fun! Then we’ve just been hanging out today (I ate some brie for lunch) and will be having some ice cream cake shortly…I CANNOT have a birthday without ice cream cake.
as far as presents go (not that birthdays are about presents, but I thought they were worth mentioning), I’ve done well this year so far. I got a fantastic 50mm 1.4 Canon lens, which I love from the pops, some nice spending money from momma and John, and then Rico promised to do all the dishes at every meal this whole day AND he cleaned the kitchen.
Thank you all!!! Oh, and then another awesome gift that doesn’t really have a gifter, God I guess?…Brian McLaren AND Shane Claiborne will be in the office on Tuesday. THANK YOU GOD! I not into celebrity worship…just don’t get it. But when it comes to people who have inspired me or changed my life, I experience a tad. I know they’re humans and all that, but I can’t wait to see them and witness their humanity. I’ve met Brian McLaren before and it was so great because really, he’s just a guy…a guy who writes a lot and has radical ideas, but still just a guy. I don’t know why, but that just inspires me. I’m sure I’ll feel the same when I meet Shane Claiborne on Tuesday…just a dude, doing radical things the Lord has called him to do. So excited…AND I’m totally bringing all my books for them to sign. Now, if ONLY Sufjan Stevens, Ben Gibbard, or Thom York would show up…then I think I’d die, which I guess isn’t the best thing to do right after your bday…we can save that gift for next year…thank you in advance God. Well I guess I should go because I’m not really saying anything substantial. Have a wonderful Sunday everyone and remember, happy birthday to me!

I don’t know what it is with me and cheese lately….
(If I believed in “eating for your blood type” which I DON’T, looks like I’d be right on track for my B+ blood type, supposedly dairy is supposed to be my main food…I can dream)
…but I’ve been craving brie like you wouldn’t believe.
ESPECIALLY after finding this website: www.cheesecupid.com
A trip to Wine Steals last night where I had Pinot Noir and the brie raspberry wrap (only $5!! great for us considering our finances are really tricky right now) was definitely just what I needed.
And yes, I know you care about my cheese cravings and financial problems…that’s about the most exciting thing happening at this moment, so there you have it. BRIE!
