Oh Rachel, you just knew that I would have to comment on this article and why not, a "civil debate" is always a positive exercise.

This article by Brian M. is lamenting the same problem that was happening during the Reagan/Bush years. Just change the main focus of the article to Democrats. "A plea for a new generation of Democratic leadership!" If one looks back to the history of politics in this country, the party that is not in power is always characterized as being in disarray, disorganized, leaderless, and searching for a path back to the promised land, the White House.
Politics is like a kaleidoscope, changing it's shapes and colors with each turn. I imagine the Republicans will have found their way in eight years from now (a miracle)and who knows, it may even happen sooner.

As for the "mature parties" there are still two mature parties. The majority of Americans belong to either a mature Democratic party or a mature Republican party. The negativity that we seen nowadays is definitely from the radical left or the radical right. Reason being because they are proactive and gain the majority of media attention. Us quiet folks just enjoy our comfortable lives and try not to get dragged into all of the rhetoric and hatred. And please, don't even try to say hate speech is coming from the right more than the left. Bush was crucified by the left and called every name in the book.

It is my observation that the decent folks of this here great country are at fault for letting the radical elements of both sides get away with spewing hatred and trying to divide us. We need to stand-up and say no more, but we won't...sad.
Grace in America is dead.

As for Obama and the racist claims we seem to hear all the time now, how could he possibly have been elected if the majority of white Americans had not put their racial issues behind them? True, there will always be racists, but it is time for the majority of decent white and black folks to turn the page and embrace each other, which I actually believe has happened. Of course, the radical left and right would be out of business if this were to completely happen.

"A wiser and more constructive opposition" is there on the other side of the aisle in Congress and the House, they are just waiting for someone to listen and actually consider their ideas valuable as well.

"I believe, hope, and pray that the Democrats AND Republicans can do better for their parties, for Americans as a whole, which will make a better World for all."

Love the comment pops...so funny, "biggest loser of all time"...hahahahaha. I died. I think that question about finding a decent President in this country spans to all countries. No leader is going to get it completely right (they are just humans afterall), and it's subjective to a degree anyways isn't it? Depending on people's views, the president could be total loser or totally awesome.....I guess we'll see. Verdict is still out on Obama...we'll see what happens in the next 8 years. ;-) And no, not an argument provoking comment...but just wait til the next post, got an article to share that I KNOW will at least upset one of my readers (not referring to you dad, but guess it could be a possibility). ;-) Thanks for taking the time to comment! much love!!

You are annoyed with politics now, how about the last 48 years. Why do we have so much trouble finding a decent President in this country.

JFK---only two years but seemed very good.
Johnson-loser
Nixon-loser
Ford-basically did nothing.
Carter-biggest loser of all time.
Reagan-very good in second term.
Bush Sr.-loser
Clinton-good sometimes/loser sometimes
Bush Jr.-loser
Obama-verdict still out/not the best start

"Loser" is probably not the ideal rating to use. Words like "ineffective" "controversial" "out to lunch" etc, might have been better but just went with the "L" word-easier.

So, for about 10 years out of 48 I have felt proud of MY President, not a very good record for our country.

PLEASE----one amazing, honorable President before I die!

So,is the comment going to provoke an argument? Hope not, but would be interesting to see how others (older folks I guess) feel about our Presidents since JFK.

Jesus said: "And call no man your father [pope, papa, padre] on earth, for you have one Father, who is in heaven." (Matthew 23:9)

So yes it is a great quote. But I wanted to disagree with something so I decided to disagree with the papacy of all things. Cool. Done.

You are an INFJ??!?! No way, totally wold have guessed INFP for you sister. do you find that you function as more of a j in your work setting and more of a p in your personal life? I am ENFJ and I know that is true for me. I have been trying to figure out our family: Here is what I came up with (Mom, David and I have all taken a test)
Mom= ISFJ
Dad= ESTJ
David= INTP
Rico= ???? used to be an E, now acts more like an I so INFJ????....
Noah= I think right now is an ENFP...but will develop more in the J later...
